Our Security Guard Service Areas

Our security guard service areas are Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County and Ventura County, plus the San Fernando Valley, a region of Los Angeles County that we list on its own. If your property is anywhere in those five areas, we can quote it, whether or not your city has its own page.

Twenty cities have a full page so far, and every other city and neighborhood we cover is listed further down. Commercial and residential properties are both in scope. The county pages cover each area's property mix and local rules; this page covers what stays the same everywhere and what changes with the address.

Los Angeles County

The largest and most varied area: the port complex, Downtown towers, Westside rebuild sites and the Antelope Valley.

Orange County

Planned communities and homeowners associations, Irvine office campuses, resort-district hotels and beach-city retail.

San Bernardino County

Inland Empire warehouses, truck yards and rail, plus the High Desert along the I-15.

San Fernando Valley

The Los Angeles County region north of the Santa Monica Mountains: studios, Ventura Boulevard and Warner Center.

Ventura County

Farms on the Oxnard Plain, the Port of Hueneme area and the Conejo and Simi valleys.

Every Area

What Stays the Same in Every County

One state license

Our Private Patrol Operator (PPO) license and every officer's guard card come from BSIS and are valid statewide, and every guard card requires the same 40 hours of BSIS training. There is no separate county guard license. Written confirmation of our licence and insurance arrives before day one.

Insurance before the first shift

California requires every licensed PPO to carry at least $1,000,000 in general liability coverage per occurrence (Business and Professions Code Sections 7583.39 and 7583.40). We send a certificate of insurance naming you before the first shift.

Paperwork you can check

A free site walk, a written quote broken out post by post, written post orders before the first shift, and a written report after every shift. Field supervisors visit posts unannounced, and dispatch answers 24/7.

Local Differences

What Changes With the Address

The fire authority. A fire watch follows the order of whichever department covers the address. Across our five areas that includes the Los Angeles Fire Department, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Orange County Fire Authority, San Bernardino County Fire, the Ventura County Fire Department and a long list of city departments, and they do not all set the same patrol interval or log format.

The police agency. Depending on the address, incidents go to a city police department, the county sheriff in unincorporated areas and contract cities, or the California Highway Patrol on state highways. The post orders name the right agency and its non-emergency number, and local items such as alarm permits and event permits.

Distance and weather. A post in Lancaster, Victorville or Fillmore is a long drive from central Los Angeles, so relief and supervisor visits get planned before we commit to a start date. Coastal posts deal with fog and damp nights; inland and desert posts deal with summer heat, where Cal/OSHA's heat rules shape how the post is set up.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check that a security company is licensed in California?
Search the company name on the Department of Consumer Affairs license lookup. A guard company needs an active Private Patrol Operator license from BSIS, and each officer needs an active guard card. Ask for a certificate of insurance as well.
Can you quote sites in more than one county at once?
Yes. Give us every address on the first call. Each site gets its own walk, its own post orders and its own shift reports, and the quote prices each post separately, so you can see what each location costs.
How far ahead should I call before a new post starts?
As early as you can. The site walk, the written quote and the post orders all come before the first shift, and posts far from central Los Angeles, such as Lancaster, Victorville or Fillmore, take more planning for relief and supervision. For an urgent fire watch, call anyway and we will tell you honestly what we can staff.
