Security guard services in Ventura County from CAL Security Group: unarmed officers licensed by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) for ranches and packing houses, warehouses near the Port of Hueneme, Conejo Valley office campuses and Simi Valley business parks, from Oxnard and Ventura to Thousand Oaks.
The Oxnard Plain and the Santa Clara River Valley, around Oxnard, Camarillo, Santa Paula and Fillmore, are farm country: strawberries, vegetables, lemons and avocados, with packing houses, cold storage and equipment yards to match. Oxnard, the county's largest city, sits next to the Port of Hueneme, the only commercial deep-water port between Los Angeles and San Francisco and a major entry point for imported cars and fresh fruit.
East along the US-101 and the SR-118, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Simi Valley are suburban: office and biotech campuses, shopping centers, business parks and planned neighborhoods. Ojai, up the SR-33, is small, residential and full of hospitality properties. One note on Westlake Village: the incorporated city is in Los Angeles County, while the Westlake neighborhoods on the Thousand Oaks side of the line are in Ventura County. We cover both sides.

Coverage for a county that is half farm and port, half suburban campus and shopping center.

Four Ventura County cities have their own page so far. We also cover the farm towns of Santa Paula and Fillmore, Ojai and the rest of the Conejo and Simi valleys. Westlake Village is listed here for convenience, though the incorporated city is in Los Angeles County.

Strawberry and vegetable fields, packing houses, cold storage, and the auto and produce cargo moving through the Port of Hueneme. The losses here are equipment, fuel, irrigation parts and copper wire from sites nobody lives on.
Citrus and avocado ranches along the SR-126 through Santa Paula and Fillmore, small downtowns and oil leases in the hills. Sites are large and dark, so patrol checks with gate and fence inspections cover more ground than one standing post.
Downtown Ventura's shops and restaurants, the harbor, the fairgrounds, hospitals and hotels, then Ojai's resorts and ranch homes up the SR-33.
Office and biotech campuses, medical buildings, retail centers and gated communities in Thousand Oaks and Westlake. The work is badge access, lobby presence, after-hours lock-up and homeowners association (HOA) gate posts.
Business parks and light industry along the SR-118, shopping centers and large residential tracts, with open hillsides on every side.
Ventura County's worst fires have come with Santa Ana winds in late fall and winter. The Thomas Fire started near Santa Paula in December 2017 and burned into Ventura and the hills around Ojai. The Woolsey Fire started in November 2018 near the Simi Valley end of the county and burned south to Malibu.
For a property owner, security needs change through a fire. Before and during red-flag days, hot work and any out-of-service fire system deserve extra attention, and a fire watch if your fire department orders one. During an evacuation, closed businesses and empty streets need patrol, as far as the authorities allow access. Afterward, damaged buildings need a post or patrol, a fire watch where alarms or sprinklers are out, and gate control once rebuilding starts.

For farm patrols, a marked-up map of gates, pumps and equipment yards gets you a better quote than any description over the phone.
