Torrance is a working city rather than a destination. American Honda has run its United States headquarters at 1919 Torrance Boulevard since 1990, on a campus of roughly 110 acres. Torrance Police Department ran a directed enforcement operation against a surge in late-night catalytic converter thefts that ended in 20 arrests, recovered 87 converters traced to thefts in the area in a separate case, and was still urging residents to stay alert about converter thefts into January 2025.
Each of those has a different answer. A converter problem is a lighting and patrol problem. A retail problem is a doorway and write-up problem. The site walk sorts out which one you have.

Torrance requires an alarm system permit before an alarm is installed or operated, charges $221 for every burglary false alarm after the third in a calendar year, and charges $221 from the first panic or robbery false alarm. The city's alarm ordinance is Chapter 8 of the municipal code.

Fees published by the Torrance Police Department alarm program. Two things in that ordinance matter more than the money. It defines "nonresponse status", where the Police Department stops answering alarm signals from a system altogether, and it states that the city takes on no duty to any permit holder by running the programme at all.

Unarmed guards in California bill at about $22 to $40 an hour on the open market, published market data rather than CAL Security Group's rate. Torrance has no city minimum wage ordinance, so the floor under a Torrance post is California's $16.90 an hour, lower than in Los Angeles, Santa Monica or Pasadena.
