Security guard services in Garden Grove for the bars and shops on Main Street and at Pacific City, hotels along Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Harbour homes and the industrial parks off Bolsa Avenue. Officers are unarmed, licensed by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), and briefed on written orders for each site.
Garden Grove sells a lot of hotel rooms to people visiting somewhere else. The Harbor Boulevard corridor runs north into the Anaheim resort area, so the hotels, motels and restaurants along it work on visitor traffic, late arrivals and cars full of luggage sitting in open lots.
The rest of the city is different again. Little Saigon's shops and restaurants around Bolsa Avenue run on cash and long hours. Main Street keeps a small historic centre. Between them sit apartment complexes, medical buildings and light industrial blocks that empty out at night.
CAL Security Group carries a BSIS Private Patrol Operator (PPO) licence, and unarmed officers are the only kind we put on a post. Post orders are written for the property, in plain language, before the first shift.

Hotels and motels taking guests at every hour, with parking that anyone can walk into. Night desk officers, lot rounds and a written log of vehicles and visitors are the standard arrangement, plus pool and corridor checks at closing time.
Hotel security →Dense retail, restaurants, jewellers and markets, many trading late and handling cash. Officers work storefronts and the shared lots behind them, and several businesses in one centre often split a walking post.
Retail security →The small historic core, with shops, offices and civic buildings that close early and sit dark. Lock-up rounds and logged patrol stops cover this stretch without a standing officer.
Lock-up rounds →Garden Grove Hospital and the medical offices around it run long hours, with staff crossing lots at shift change and visitors arriving at odd times. Lobby control, escorts and structure rounds.
Healthcare security →Carports, gates and shared laundry areas are where most resident complaints start. Officers walk the levels, watch gates close behind cars, and log the entry points that need fixing.
Apartment security →Light industrial buildings, yards and self-storage that go quiet after the last shift. Gate control at closing, rounds between rows after dark, and logged checks of trailers and equipment.
Warehouse security →Garden Grove is about 26 miles southeast of our office at 1208 W Jefferson Blvd in Los Angeles. Other city pages close by, by straight-line distance:
Garden Grove charges for false alarms with a formula rather than a fixed ladder, and it applies whether or not your permit is current.
| Garden Grove alarm charge | Amount |
|---|---|
| Business alarm permit, annual | $25 if paid within 30 days of the due date, $50 after |
| Residential alarm permit, three years | $30 if paid within 30 days, $55 after |
| False alarms above two in any 12-month period | The number of false alarms in the last 12 months minus two, multiplied by $50 per alarm |
| Paying a false alarm bill late | An extra $25 |
| A false robbery alarm under Penal Code Section 211 | $100 within 30 days, $125 after |
Figures from the City of Garden Grove's published user fee schedule. Read the formula carefully, since it is not a flat per-alarm charge: at six false alarms in a rolling year the calculation runs against four of them, so a bad sensor gets expensive faster than most owners expect. The city's own alarm programme explains the reason plainly, that officers spend time on thousands of false calls a year that they could spend on real ones.
An officer who answers the alarm with your keys and codes checks the doors and windows, cancels a faulty activation and calls Garden Grove Police only when there is a real entry to report.
Unarmed guards in California bill at about $22 to $40 an hour on the open market, published market data rather than CAL Security Group's rate. Garden Grove has no city minimum wage of its own, so the wage floor is California's $16.90 an hour in 2026. A hotel worker wage measure was discussed for the November 2026 ballot and did not go on it.
A hotel post is priced by the block of hours you actually need, usually 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. rather than the full day. Retail centres buy trading hours plus a closing round. Each appears separately on the quote. Typical ranges by building type sit in the cost guide.
For a hotel, the hours around the night audit tell us where the officer belongs: front desk, lot, or both in rotation.
Let us know what you run, a Main Street bar, a PCH hotel, a Harbour HOA or an industrial site off Gothard, and which dates or hours worry you. We will walk the property and send a written quote.
